Grid Down Communications

Written by Pat Henry on The Prepper Journal.

Back when I started getting into this lifestyle now known as prepping, I had a million problems I was trying to solve. I imagine some of you feel the same way if you are beginning. If you are paying attention and are at least partially grounded in reality, you can see the fragility of society. […]

What did you do to prep this week?

I hope everyone is doing well and has done something to make themselves become better prepared than you were last week… After all that’s the goal right, and that is to do something each week to become more prepared to survive a disaster than you were the week before.

Okay, before we get started with this weeks segment, I’d like to give a shout-out to Skip H, Peter W and Sherry S for their contributions this week via Paypal. If this blog has helped you in anyway and you would like to show your support via a monetary contribution you can do that here.

Now let me see…...

Prep Blog Review: What Are Your Survival Skills?

Prep Blog Review 22 AugWhen it comes to survival it all sums up to skills: what are you going to be able to do in order to survive, when SHTF? There’s a lot of things you’ll have to provide for yourself and your family, and it’s never too late to start working on your skills.

Here are 5 things that will help you out in a lot of situation. Let us know what else you think it’s important to know when SHTF, in the comments section below.

1. 3 Survival Skills Learned from NASA

Prep 1“Recently I finished the book “The Martian” by Andy Weir. In it, a man named Mark Watney is stranded on Mars after his fellow crew mates escape a disastrous storm in which they believe him to be dead. I don’t want to ruin the story for you, but that’s the basic idea. The rest of the book (and soon to be movie) takes you through his experiences surviving on the red planet.

While the writing is amazing and the characters are solid, the thing that really got me about this story is the innate want to survive that’s inside every human. With no hope of rescue Watney took it upon himself to survive for as long as possible just for the sake of survival and the hope that he get rescued someday.”

Getting Out Of Dodge. One Couples Story.

Today we present another article in our non-fiction writing contest –Jay in Kansas

It was raining early that morning as the wife and I threw the last of our belongings into her trunk, and then herded the dogs into the back seat of my truck. We were approximately three hours ahead of what would become known as Superstorm Sandy skimming the coast of Virginia as it reserved its rage for the Northeast. I took a last look at the house we’d owned for the past eight years, and thought of the money we’d invested in the place. The hardwood floors, the crown molding, the flat screens mounted on...

6 Ways To Clean Yourself When There’s No Water

no water hygieneIf you ask survivors of war or tragedy, one of the things that they will tell you they missed the most was being clean. I once read an article written by a survivor of a war camp and she said that she’d once traded an entire day’s food rations (which was meager but extremely valuable) for a slip of soap. She said just staying clean made her feel more human in a world seemingly devoid of hope.

I’ve heard the same sentiment about cleanliness from soldiers who have spent weeks at a time on missions where they didn’t have the opportunity to shower. Being clean just feels good; it’s a morale booster and it’s a health necessity, but what happens if you have little to no water and still want, or need, to be clean? There are other ways to be clean without water and that’s what we’ll talk about today.

Dry Bath

This is a product that requires no water but will get you clean. You rub the gel over your body, then rub it off with your hands and the dirt comes off with it. There are several different versions of this product available on Amazon and other sites. It’s handy to have in your Bug-Out Bag or in your stockpile, but due to cost, it’s not something that you’d want to depend on except in a pinch.

There are also several dry shampoos out there that would serve the same purpose, but again, it’s not something you’d want for the long term because of storage and cost issues. You’d run out eventually and then what?

Alcohol

Alcohol gets rid of odor and is an effective sanitizer but it’s not something that you want to use on your skin on a regular basis. An alcohol wipe will deodorize your armpits and sanitize your hands, but that’s about the only reasons you would want to use it straight. It can be used in homemade cleansers though.

I’ve read about other people who use alcohol dabbed on the scalp to get rid of grease. I personally have never tried this but it doesn’t seem to me like it would work the same on grease as it does on moisture. I may be wrong though; if I am, please speak up in the comments section.

Use the Local Creek, River or Pond

river bathYes, this is a cheat. But you do need to bathe with actual water on occasion. If you don’t have very much fresh water, you don’t want to waste it bathing. If you’re going to bathe in local waters, make sure that you use all-natural products that won’t damage the environment or contaminate it so that it can’t be used as a future source of drinking water if circumstances become dire.

Flour, Cornmeal, Baking Soda

This combination is great for degreasing your hair. The flour acts to absorb the grease, the cornmeal helps scrub the dirt from your scalp while absorbing more grease and the baking soda helps deodorize and absorb grease. If you have dark hair, add a bit of cocoa powder in to make it darker so that your hair doesn’t take on a gray hue if you’d like. However, if you brush your hair well after you scrub this through then shake it out, you likely won’t have that issue.

Baby Powder

There are many uses for baby powder besides making a baby smell good so it’s a good tool to keep around. If you don’t want to waste your food on hygiene, baby powder does an excellent job of absorbing the grease from your hair. As a matter of fact, it can keep it grease-free for up to two weeks without washing it if you use it every few days. Plus it will make it smell good.

Brushing Your Teeth without Water

brushing teeth sodaThis is probably one of the most important aspects of hygiene, especially if SHTF because dentists may be few and far between. A toothache is the last thing you need and if one abscesses, it can literally kill you if the infection gets into your bloodstream. Therefore, even if you don’t have water, you still need to care for your teeth.

You can always use your toothbrush even without water. If you have a little baking soda, make a paste from it and use it like toothpaste. Old fashioned tooth powder consisted of baking soda and salt. It won’t taste fabulous but you can improve that if you have a bit of cinnamon or crushed mint leaves to add to it. Be careful using this every day though because it’s an abrasive and will eat away the enamel on your teeth if you use it too often.

Flossing is extremely important, too. Maybe even more important than brushing. If you don’t have dental floss, use any string that you have available. It could be an unbraided piece of your 325 paracord, sewing thread or even a thread from your clothes. Do this daily or even every time you eat, especially if you’re eating meat or anything else that could get between your teeth and gums because that’s one of the major reasons that abscesses start.

If you don’t have a toothbrush, you could do like the old-timers did and chew on the end of a stick (make sure it’s not poisonous!) until the fibers resemble a brush, then dip it in your tooth powder. Just chewing on the stick will help clean your teeth too.

If you just want to freshen your breath after cleaning them with this not-so-amazing-tasting tooth powder, chew on a bit of mint.

It’s a good idea to always keep three dental items in your emergency kit – oral antiseptic gel, dental putty in case you break a tooth, and maybe some clove oil because it dulls the pain. Since clove oil has several medicinal uses, it’s something you should have on hand.

Finally, if you’re a book person, you should have a book on survival dentistry just in case something does develop. Also, this would be a valuable skill to have that you could use for barter if it would come to that.

Now that you know some useful tricks to keep your body and teeth clean, you have one less thing to worry about when it comes to survival. Also, as the lady that I mentioned before illustrates, soaps and other hygiene items will be extremely valuable barter items so if you have room, stockpile enough to use for trade. Even the little hotel soaps would be great and they wouldn’t take up much space. The travel sized toothpastes and shampoos are great, too.

If you have any good hygiene tips, please share them with us in the comments section below!

Tactical Hand Signals Every Prepper Should Know How To Do

Having The Life-Skill Of Using Your Hands As A Form Of Communication For An Emergency/Ambush Situation Is A Skill That All Preppers Should Know.
Instead of learning a whole other language so that your enemies can’t understand you is a valuable, valuable, valuable skill and it should be learned no matter what your situation is.
A lot of people use hand-signals; you just may not realize it. People that serve in The Military obviously use it, SWAT Teams and even people who play sports use hand-signals.
For a survivalist or prepper using hand signals in a STHF moment is an invaluable tool  particularly if you need to be silent or cannot communicate by traditional means.

Happy Hens Lay More Eggs: 8 Tips To Happy Hens

happy hensAre you having problems with egg production? Do your hens seem to be rebelling against you? Well there may be a good reason for it. They may just need a bit of coddling (chicken style) to make them happy and increase their yield. It’s a known fact that happy, healthy chickens lay more eggs than ones who aren’t so satisfied and today we’re going to give you a few tips on how to make your hens happy so that they’ll lay more eggs.

1. Don’t forget that they’re birds

It’s easy to just put your chickens in a coop and leave them there but that’s not how they were meant to be. Even though they’ve been domesticated since somebody realized that they tasted great with gravy and that they could lay something that had about a kazillion different delicious uses, chickens still have bird instincts.

They like to roam. They like to flap their wings and pretend they can fly. They like to scratch around looking for things to eat. If it’s at all possible, let them roam. If you don’t have that luxury, at least give them a coop big enough for them to stretch their wings.

2. Give them something to do

Bored chickens are unhappy chickens. Scratching around gives them something to do and it also helps boost their metabolism and keep them warm in the winter. Throw your hens in some leftover vegetable scraps or the weeds that you just pulled from your garden.

The ends of cabbage heads and wilted lettuce will give them something to peck at and they will soon turn it into the dirt and manure in their coop, making it excellent compost. Corn cobs, whole melons or melon rinds make great scratch, too. Any kind of scraps will do, as long as their vegetables.

3. Let them forage

chickenI know that this is a point of contention for some, but the entire time I was growing up, our chickens roamed the yard during the day and we fed them by tossing the feed out in handfuls onto the ground. It kept them busy and it was a more natural way for them to eat. If you can do that for them on a full-time basis, then great. If not, try to let them out for a bit in the evenings. When dark settles, they’ll head back to the coop to roost for the night.

4. Build them a nice coop

Though an airtight coop with no breezes sounds like a warm, cozy, ideal chicken coop, it’s actually not. You’ve likely been inside your coop when it was sweltering hot. If it’s poorly ventilated, it was not only uncomfortably warm in there, it also smelled bad.

A coop with good ventilation will keep your hens comfortable and let air flow through so that disease-causing bacteria won’t have as much chance to flourish. It will also help keep your coop dry so that it doesn’t smell as bad. That helps with the bacteria growth, too.

Make sure that they each have a place to roost at night and provide plenty of nesting boxes – at least 1 for every 4 hens. Finally, if your chickens are in the pen all day, you should ideally have 10 square feet per chicken.

Our coop has hinged doors on the sides with screen so that we can keep them open most of the time but close them up if there’s a particularly cold, windy night. Our hens seem to appreciate it.

5. Give your girls a place to take a dirt bath

Chickens clean themselves and keep their skin and feathers in good condition by taking dirt baths. It also helps keep them free of mites and lice and they smell better. They’ll roll around in it and work it all through their feathers. If your chickens are free-roaming, they will make a dirt bath in your favorite flower bed if you don’t provide them with one.

Pick a spot for your hen spa and either dig a hole or find a container that’s at least 12 inches deep and 24 inches across each direction. Fill it with sand and dirt. Some people use wood ash, which is fine if you have it. Others say to use diatomaceous earth, but I don’t because it comes with a warning to wear a mask when using it. If I can’t breathe it, I figure my chickens shouldn’t either.  If it comes right down to it, just sand will work.

A side benefit of a dirt bath is that it’s hilarious to watch. Your hen will flop around in it, roll in it, and do all kinds of funny stuff.

6. Keep their lives stress-free

Stress is at the very top of the list when it comes to reduced egg production. Chickens don’t like to be chased by kids or dogs. They don’t care much for loud music or vehicles coming and going past them all the time. Predators in the coop terrify them and will keep them from producing. Just about anything that you consider stressful will be stressful for your girls, too. Keep their area quiet and safe.

If you bring home new hens, it will be a bit of a transition for them. They’ll lay 2 or three eggs that were already in the making but then they may slack off for a few days or a week. It’s normal. Just let them adjust and keep their environment calm and collected and they’ll pick right back up where they left off.

7. Provide physical requirements for good laying

eggs The happiest hen in the world won’t lay many eggs if she isn’t getting the nutrition, water or sunshine that she needs in order to lay. Give her plenty of good-quality feed as well as oyster shells or egg shells to peck at. Make sure your girls have plenty of CLEAN water, readily available at all times. Hens also need 12-14 hours of sunlight per day in order to lay well. That may mean that you need to give them a light for a few hours in the winter time.

On the other hand, your ladies need a break sometimes. Laying eggs is hard work so if you’d like to give them a bit of rest and relaxation, skip the extra light. They’ll still lay, but production will go down by 1/3 or even 1/2. It’s up to you to determine how many eggs you need.

8. Don’t think that you NEED a rooster

Unless you’re hatching out more chickens, a rooster isn’t going to add anything but commotion to your flock. If your egg production is down, buying a rooster isn’t going to help matters any. If you do use a rooster so that you can hatch out chicks, be prepared to find homes (or gravy-related options) for roosters because you’ll have plenty of new ones in every batch.

Keeping your hens healthy, happy and safe is the best way to get the most from your girls. If you want to increase egg production, increase the happiness of your hens!

I’m sure that I didn’t touch on everything in this article so if you have tips that you’d like to add, please share them with us in the comments section below. Until next time, may the cluck be with you.

Make a Fire By Rubbing Sticks

Picture
Cast away on a deserted island? Here's a survival technique for making a fire with the most basic of resources. How to make a fire rubbing 2 sticks together! A friction fire made by the "Fire Plow" method is not as easy as it looks. Practicing with the right woods and techniques is invaluable to being prepared for an actual emergency. Warning: The maker of the video assumes no liability for application of the knowledge or techniques portrayed in this video. Use of this video content is at your own risk.

Video Description:

Project History & More Info
I used dried wild hibiscus wood, which in my experience is the easiest wood to do this with. I've heard that dried sotol wood is also very easy. The Samoans say that any type of wood can be used to make a friction fire, and it's important that both sticks come from the same piece of wood.

I've tried many different woods and been successful with amazing amounts of smoke, but thus far haven't had any success in developing a coal. It's probably my technique, which I hope I can master over time, but I've found very little information on the subject, and nobody who's actually done it with wood other than hibiscus or sotol.

The Ultimate Chicken Coop – Part 2 The Control Panel

Today we present another article in our non-fiction writing contest – Dan W

Part 1 was building the predator proof pen and the coop. Part 2 details the Control Panel assembly and a few design/construction tips.  Included are additional schematics and photos.

I wanted the Control Panel Box to have these features:

  • Ease of servicing
  • Minimal use of solder to make wiring connections
  • Two sections in single box structure. I changed this from what I said in Part 1. Worked out that a single box design was better. (Lower Section = Primary power components, Upper Section = Timers and User...

Straight Talk About Expiration Dates

by Joe Alton, MD of www.doomandbloom.net, Co-author, The Survival Medicine Handbook

Antibiotics

Years ago, I wrote an article about the truth relating to expiration dates on medications. Lately, I’ve seen some confusing information on the internet that tells you how dangerous they are while telling you that, in a survival scenario, you should probably use them. So I think it’s time to set the record straight with regards to expiration dates on medications.

Before I start, I want to tell you that my focus is medical preparedness for major disasters and long-term survival. That means a strategy of...

10 Wild Edibles To Find In The Desert

desert foodAt first glance, the desert looks barren; it’s dry, with very few plants and even fewer animals. However, at closer inspection, there are many ways to avoid starvation in a survival situation in the desert if you know what to look for. Finding wild edibles in the desert can be a tricky thing but with the proper knowledge, you won’t starve.

The first thing you need to know is that not every plant or bug is edible. Some are even poisonous so it’s crucial that you know the difference. If part of your survival plan includes venturing into the desert, we recommend adding a book about edible and poisonous desert plants and bugs to your bug-out bag so that you’re not depending upon memory.

The primary desert in the US is the Sonoran Desert and there are more than 540 edible plants that natives have been using to survive and thrive for hundreds of years. You may not get fat from them but you will stay alive, which is all that matters in a survival situation. Though we can’t hit all 540-plus edibles here, we’re going to touch on some of the most common and easily accessible.

Water

Your most pressing need is going to be water (and shelter of course, but that’s a different article) because you can live for 3 weeks with little to no food, but only about 24 hours before your body starts to shut down from dehydration. Eating will increase your body’s need for water, so if you don’t have water, don’t eat until you find a source.

Fortunately, there are sources of water in the desert in the form of plants, and we’ll get to that in a bit.

1. Prickly Pear Cactus

Prickly PearOne of the first tips for finding foods in the desert for survival that you’ll be happy to hear is that all cactus fruits are edible.

They may not all taste fabulous, but you can eat them and they are often good sources of water and nutrients. One of the more pleasant cacti to eat is the prickly pear cactus. It’s about 85% water and has a high sugar and fiber content.

The light green, spiky leaves, often called pads, are often boiled or eaten raw in salads. The flowers are a beautiful dark pink color and are edible.

The fruits, oddly enough called tuna, are actually tasty. They’re fruity tasting and are often dried and candied but they’re good raw, and they have a decent water content so it’s a good bang for your buck.

2. Saguaro Cactus

Saguaro CactusThese are plentiful in the desert and can grow to be 45 feet tall and live to be 200+ years old!

They produce edible white flowers with yellow centers in the early spring – May or so – and bear edible large pink and red fruit during the next couple of months.

This cycle ends around June but even if you aren’t fortunate enough to find a flowering, fruiting saguaro, you can still benefit from the spongy, fibrous interior that acts as a sponge for storing the water in the plant. You can eat it and extract the water from it to survive.

3. Desert Christmas Cactus

Christmas cactusThis little cactus looks like scrubby shrubs and grow to be about 2 feet tall.

They’re often found alongside bushes and produce little red berries with spines on them, but you can scrape them off with a knife.

The berries taste a little like strawberries and are a good source of vitamins, including vitamins C and A.

4. Chia Sage

chia sageThe seeds of this plant are extremely nutritious and provide good short-term energy.

Also known as golden chia or desert chia, this short plant with dark purplish spiky balls with periwinkle-colored tiny flowers and textured leaves can be eaten raw or used as seasoning for soups and stews.

The entire plant is edible. It’s usually about 10 inches to 2 feet tall and looks like a bush, or in particularly dry areas, may grow as an individual flower.

5. Agave

AgaveAgave plants look sort of like aloe and vary in color from almost blue to bright or dark green.

The entire plant, including leaves, flowers, stalks and seeds are edible on many species though some are too dry to be eaten. They’ve historically been used to make string, baskets, rope and shoes.

6. Pinyon Pine

Pinyon PineThere are actually two varieties of the pinyon pine and they look like a combination of a Christmas-type pine tree and a pine tree that grows in a bushy shape.

The seeds, known as pine nuts, are packed with nutrition and are also delicious. The pitch from these trees makes a great glue.

7. Mesquite

MesquiteMesquite trees produce pods that look sort of like beans.

You can dry them and grind them into a flour that can be mixed with water to be eaten raw or baked into a cake.

8. Cholla Cactus

ChollaHikers hate these prickly plants but if you’re trying to survive, chollas are your friend.

The flowers and seeds are edible and nutritious.

The plant is bushy and covered in spikes that can be quite painful to touch.

Be careful harvesting the flowers but don’t pass them by just because they look intimidating!

9. Spiny Hackleberry

HuckleberryThese bushy plants produce little orange berries that, though small and seedy, will provide nutrition though you’ll need a lot of them to get full.

The leaves are also edible but not very tasty.

10. Yucca

Yucca 2Yucca plants are made of many spiky leaves that fan into a round plant and they grow fruit in the summer time that’s great grilled or can be eaten raw.

The leaves are oily and can be eaten by removing the outer skin and boiling the insides. You could eat it raw if you have to. The roots of the plant are edible, too.

If you do eat the roots, they contain saponin which can be toxic in large amounts. You can boil them to remove most of the saponin. Just FYI, there have been no reported deaths from eating raw yucca root but I wanted to let you know about it.

Other desert edibles include miner’s lettuce, stinging nettle, bushmint and tepary beans.

What NOT to Eat

Don’t eat any plant that has a milky sap – it’s poisonous. Also, don’t eat ANY red beans. If possible, boil plants before you eat them and do tests on plants that you’re not sure about. Rub some on a small spot of skin. If you don’t have a reaction within 15 minutes, try rubbing it on your lips. If you don’t get a reaction in 15 minutes, put some in your mouth, again for 15 minutes. Chew it and keep it in your mouth for 15 minutes.

If you still don’t have a stinging, burning or itching sensation, swallow it and don’t eat anything else for at least 12 hours. If you don’t get sick, the plant is probably edible. This may seem like a huge process but if push comes to shove, it’s a way to test for edibility.

We know for a fact that we didn’t come even close to listing all of the edibles in the desert. We’d love to hear more suggestions from you in the comments section below!

Make A Electricity-Free, Tankless Water Heater With A Propane Tank & Water Source

Can you imagine living off the grid and having hot water on demand for a nice, hot cup of coffee or a warm shower?
If more people would know that they could have that then they would all be living in rural areas.
If you would have told me that I could easily have a tank-less water heater I probably would have laughed at you because the prices for these things are astronomical.
However, what I didn’t realize was that I could make one just from a few materials and simplify my life a lot more.
Traditional water heaters are continually heating the water stored in its tank. The concept of a tank-less water heater is that it only heats up water as its needed.
Meaning – when it’s not in use, it’s not heating. People in the United Kingdom have been using this method for years as an Eco-friendly way to cut down on energy costs.
The Way You Make Them Is Quite Simple & The Process Shouldn’t Take You That Long To Do. You Will Be the Most Popular Camper Or Self-Sustaining Off-The-Grid Resident In The Entire City!
Please Go To Page (2) To Find Out How You Can Make It….

The Russian Media Is Talking About What Is Coming In September, But The U.S. Media Has Been Strangely Silent

By Michael Snyder reprinted with permission via the The American Dream

The American Dream Blog.

The American Dream Blog.

Why does the Russian media seem to be far more on the ball than the mainstream media in the United States much of the time?  Could it be possible that Russian reporters have more freedom to talk about important issues than reporters that work for the major corporate conglomerates in the United States do?  Of course the Russian media is far from perfect.  They put out pro-Russian propaganda just like the U.S. media puts out pro-American propaganda.  But I must admit that I often find that...

Make a Fire By Rubbing Sticks

Cast away on a deserted island? Here's a survival technique for making a fire with the most basic of resources. How to make a fire rubbing 2 sticks together!

Project History & More Info

A friction fire made by the "Fire Plow" method is not as easy as it looks. Practicing with the right woods and techniques is invaluable to being prepared for an actual emergency.

False Flags: Government’s Schemes For Gun Control

Gun controlEver since President Obama took office, he has made it clear that one of his goals is to disarm the American public. Like most progressive liberals, he is apparently scared of an armed citizenry and what they can do. As all conservatives know, the whole gun control issue is about controlling the population, not really about guns. But as long as we have guns, their ability to control us is limited.

Historically, there are many examples of law-abiding citizens being mistreated, imprisoned and even killed by their government, when they allow the government to take away their guns. Probably the most infamous of these examples was the Holocaust, where Hitler and the NAZIs killed eight million people, starting almost immediately after bragging about creating the first “modern society” in which guns weren’t needed.

There is absolutely no reason to believe that a political party which is trying in every way they can to control every aspect of our lives is trying to take our guns away for our benefit. While they prance about the stage talking about their high ideals and “protecting the children,” the actions they propose will make nobody any safer. In fact, they will only put honest citizens in greater peril.

Fighting Crime with More Crimes

There are a number of troubling things about how the current administration and their cronies in Congress are going about trying to make “common sense” changes to gun laws. It’s amazing how their ideas are always considered “common sense” even though they are based upon nothing more than emotion.

But the more important aspect of this is that none of the actions they propose would stop the crimes that supposedly trigger those proposals. In every case, they are attacking specific weapons and capacities, not from a logical viewpoint, but from an idealistic motive.

We keep hearing the same things over and over again. Specifically, we hear about making military-style “assault rifles” and “high capacity magazines” illegal. Of course, their terminology is wrong, but we’ll leave that aside for the moment. They are selecting that terminology to fool the ignorant masses.

The thing is, the people who are committing these crimes aren’t using the weapons that are being attacked. There has not been one single case of a mass murderer using an AR-15 rifle to kill a bunch of people in a gun free zone. Nor has the issue of magazine capacity slowed them down. In the Charleston shooting, the assailant changed magazines several times.

Why are they after these particular firearms? Because those are the weapons that would most likely be used in the case of a second American Revolution. The liberals in government want to take away our ability to rise up against them and overthrow their corrupt government.

RioterEven more troubling than that, it appears clear that government instigators have been behind at least some of the actions which they are using to push for greater gun control. Even without any evidence of things going on in the background, we can see from Obama’s speeches that he is helping to rile up violence in every one of the riots that have been instigated because of a white police officer killing a black hoodlum.

On top of that, some of the participants in those riots have come forward stating that Eric Holder, Obama’s previous Attorney General, paid them to start those riots. If that isn’t a smoking gun, I don’t know what is.

Then there’s Sandy Hook, the event that was the trigger for the gun control push that has marked Obama’s presidency. There have been a number of people who have come out with videos and other evidence, showing that Sandy Hook was all false. We even see many of the same people, who are apparently actors hired to play the part of grieving families, showing up in videos from other events. Why are the same people showing up over and over again, if it’s not staged?

While we’re asking questions about Sandy Hook, let me ask a few more. If Sandy Hook was what it was reported to be, then why weren’t there any ambulances at the school? Why haven’t any of the family members sued the school, as happens after every other such incident? Why were there web pages created “in memory” of the victims, which were uploaded to the internet before the event happened? Why was the school torn down? Where are the graves of the victims?

There are just too many questions left unanswered from that event. It seems fairly clear that what has been presented to us isn’t truthful or even factual. It is quite possibly a staged event, which may not have included a single child being killed.

Yet, this event has been used to prompt a push for greater gun control measures. While none have gone through yet, the left hasn’t stopped trying.

Our Veterans Stripped Off Their Rights

Since Obama hasn’t been able to get his gun control agenda through Congress, he’s been doing everything he can to take guns away from citizens under the existing laws. Of course, that requires some effort in interpreting the laws in such a way as to allow him to get away with it. But until now, he has succeeded.

The first group of people he went after are military veterans. I would have to say that if there is anyone in this country who has a right to own firearms, it’s our veterans. But Obama’s administration is denying that right to any veterans who can be identified as mentally unstable or unable to take care of their own business. So, if a veteran even mentions that they are depressed, their Second Amendment Rights are stripped from them.

It’s even worse than that. Of course, we can expect liberals to lie in order to get their way and they are. The Obama administration is paying VA doctors a bonus for every veteran that they can “certify” as having PTSD. I say certify in quotes because they don’t have to be able to prove it, nor is there any means for the veteran to contest the decision. If the doctor says they have it, then that’s enough.

veteranWhy would Obama go after veterans? That’s obvious. If there is ever a need for a revolution, those veterans would become the backbone of the citizen’s army. So, by denying them their rights, the government is reducing our ability to control them.

The liberals sell this idea to the sheeple by telling horror stories of veterans with PTSD going on rampages and killing others. I’m not going to try and claim that doesn’t happen, because sadly it does; but it is extremely rare. Veterans are highly disciplined people and unless something happens to trigger a flashback, there is no way that they are going to kill an innocent. But by saying that they will, those who are afraid of guns anyway think the government is protecting them.

It’s not stopping with veteran’s either. The latest such action is being taken against senior citizens. Now, Obama has signed an executive order stating that seniors on Social Security who are unable to handle their own affairs have to give up their guns, or they can’t receive Social Security.

So, he’s going to take guns out of the hands of the people who most need to be able to protect themselves. Way to go Obama; let’s give the criminals a goodly pool of victims who can’t even try and fight back. That way, the criminals can earn a living. If the old people get hurt… well… that’s just the cost of furthering our ideological agenda.

This is madness. Gun laws should take guns out of the hands of the criminals, not out of the hands of law abiding citizens; especially not out of the hands of those who need a means of defending themselves. But the liberals don’t see it that way. They just see an opportunity to take guns away from people; and like Pavlov’s dogs, they start salivating.

No law is going to take guns out of the hands of criminals. That’s because criminals, by definition, don’t obey the law. So, as long as criminals are going to have guns, the only thing that makes sense is for the honest people to have guns too.

Of course, to the liberals, there is no such thing as an honest gun owner. They have stated repeatedly that we are all murderers. I guess that’s why there are no liberals left; we’ve killed them all… oh wait, there are still liberals.

I guess we’re not all murderers after all. No, if we were all murderers, liberalism wouldn’t exist. In fact, if you look at all those mass murderers, you find that they are liberals too. I guess that’s why liberals think that all gun owners are murderers, because that’s what liberals do with guns.

But the fact that conservatives don’t go around murdering people in a gun free zone is just another inconvenient fact. As we know, liberals don’t worry about those. That’s for “small minded” people who aren’t as smart as they are. They can see the bigger picture. They know what’s best. After all, they are smarter than we are… at least, in their eyes.
